What up, GOPers? |

“The recent resignations of chief of staff Charles Thomas..have resulted in payments of one-month’s salary to each “in lieu of notice,” as approved by Thomas. So Thomas approved his own one-month salary payment in lieu of notice? Curious that he didn’t approve even more for himself. What a swell guy. |

You caught me, Dionysis. I’ll make that correction. Apologies, and thanks. |

Oh, I see the name ‘Thomas’ was changed to ‘Tillis’. |
|
|
“The payments total a combined $19,333 to Tillis’ former chief of staff and his former policy adviser.” That’s OK - they’ll just find another teacher’s aide to fire in order to cover it. “Tillis’ office also offered a justification for the payments that is an entry from the online encyclopedia, Wikipedia, which in turn cites an employment law from the United Kingdom.” Whatsamatter, Thom - couldn’t find support from the French? “Tillis defended the payments as part of the “human side” that takes into account families who were affected by the abrupt job losses. He said that Hobbs is a single mother.” That one is too sad and hypocritical to make a joke about. Amy Hobbs was Tillis’ lobbyist pipeline to ALEC. She was McGuireWoods VP for State Govt. Relations before Tillis hired her. In 2010, she was shepherding corporate clients through the halls of power (the ALEC conference), hooking them up with the newly-empowered NC Republicans. In 2011, she was doing exactly the same thing, only now her salary was being paid by the taxpayers. Point of all that is that she isn’t and won’t be hurtin’ for money. Guaranteed. |

“You caught me, Dionysis. I’ll make that correction. Apologies, and thanks.” You’re welcome. Next time, however, I will have to raise my proof reading fee from $0.00 to $00.00!
