Meadow Road Wreck Sends Six To Hospital
A wreck on Meadow Road sends six people to the hospital. Meadow Road is shut down between Victoria Road and Biltmore Avenue at this time. Three vehicles were involved, including an 18-wheeler and at least one driver had to be cut from their car. It all happened shortly before 3 p.m. Monday. The Asheville Police Department says the tractor trailer heading northbound was speeding through a curve when it lost control, tipped over and spilled scrap metal. The metal landed on two other cars in the southbound lanes. A total of six people from all three vehicles were taken to the hospital. No word on their injuries. Officials say charges are pending against the truck driver.
