Animator Emily Hubley to present at UNCA

UNC Asheville will screen the animated feature firm, “The Toe Tactic,” and host two appearances by the filmmaker, writer and director, Emily Hubley, Feb. 11-13. These events are free and open to the public.

Hubley’s animation was featured in “Hedwig and the Angry Inch.” Her film, “The Toe Tactic,” was developed at the Sundance Institute’s screenwriters’ and filmmakers’ labs and has aired on the Sundance Channel. Her work has screened at the South by Southwest, Sundance, San Francisco and Rio de Janeiro film festivals.

Schedule of events:
Film screening: “The Toe Tactic” – 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, Karpen Hall 038.
“A Conversation with animator Emily Hubley,” lunchtime Q&A on women’s issues and filmmaking, 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, Karpen Hall, Laurel Forum.
Presentation by Emily Hubley, 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, Karpen Hall 038.
