Asheville Sister Cities to host Around the World culinary event

Asheville Sister Cities, Inc. invites the community to a culinary tour of Asheville's sister cities at the Around the World Party, on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the Aloft Asheville Downtown, 51 Biltmore Ave. This holiday event will feature international delicacies provided by Cecilia's Kitchen, Chestnut, Chorizo, Mamacita's, Pomodoros and ASCI’s Osogbo (Nigeria) and Vladikavkaz (Russia) committees. There will also be beer, wine and cocktails from Aloft, Biltmore Wines and Highland Brewing Company.
Tickets are $25 in advance at http://www.ashevillesistercities.org,
or $30 at the door. Admission includes food plus two drink tickets, with additional drink tickets available for $4 each.
Those interested in joining Asheville Sister Cities will be able purchase an annual membership for only $10 at the door … more than half off the regular membership fee of $25.
Proceeds from the Around the World Party will benefit the ASCI scholarship program, which provides local students the opportunity to study in Asheville’s sister cities around the world.
Asheville Sister Cities, Inc. is a non-profit organization that serves to build relationships between Asheville and its sister cities of Vladikavkaz, Russia; San Cristóbal de las Casas, Mexico; Samur, France; Karpenisi, Greece; Valladolid, Mexico; and Osogbo, Nigeria. Activities include cultural exchanges, joint business ventures, professional training, international film festivals and food tastings. ASCI also participates in regular charitable causes, such as providing medical supplies, school supplies and computers to schools in its sister cities.
