ASHEVILLE WOMEN IN TECHNOLOGY ANNOUNCES ITS INAUGURAL EVENT, MONDAY FEBRUARY 25 at 8:30AM

Asheville Women in Technology, a newly formed group for women who work and study in various fields of technology in and around Asheville, announces its inaugural event, Monday, February 25, 2013 from 8:30am to 10:00 am. at the TSAChoice, Inc. Training Room at 108 Asheville Commerce Parkway in Candler. The event is free and includes breakfast plus a special presentation, “Women in Technology: Breaking Down the Barriers,” by Adrienne Franklin of TSAChoice, Inc.

Asheville Women in Technology invites women who work or study in the Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) fields to join for professional networking, mentorship and learning. This specialized group was formed by women in Asheville who work in a variety of technology fields: Constance Markley of HomeTrust Bank; Dalene Powell of Charter Communications; Heather St. Jacques of Immedion; Monica Warren of Carolina Adventist; and Pam Silvers of A-B Technical Community College.

Special guest speaker Adrienne Franklin is a technology consultant with TSAChoice, Inc. and is one of only 12 women in a company of just over 60 employees. She is excited to help other women develop their potential as well as provide guidance for potential up and coming young ladies in STEM technologies.

Breakfast is sponsored by Charter Communications. There is no fee for this event. Participants are encouraged to bring business cards for a drawing for two admission tickets to the Biltmore Estate.
