Blue Ridge Toastmasters offers “Speak Up Asheville” workshop, Feb. 4-Feb. 25
From Blue Ridge Toastmasters (club #8215)
The Blue Ridge Toastmasters Club is presenting a four-week “Speak-Up Asheville” Public Speaking Workshop. This program is open to the public and will enhance participant’s ability to present their ideas with confidence, speak with authority, respond with poise and impact, relate to their audience, and improve their leadership and interpersonal communications skills.
The four one-hour workshops will be held on consecutive Mondays beginning on February 4th and concluding on February 25th. Each meeting will begin promptly at 12:15 PM and will finish at 1:25 PM. The workshop will be held at the Lenoir Rhyne Graduate Center in the Asheville Chamber of Commerce – 36 Montford Avenue Asheville, NC 28801 Room 317 (Lenoir Rhyne University is a sponsor of the club).
Those professionals whose jobs require conducting meetings, presenting business reports or making marketing/sales presentations can benefit greatly by participation in the workshop. Want to ace your interview, sharpen your speaking style, ignite your career – this workshop is for you as well. All of this costs a reasonable $20 for the entire workshop.
Mark your calendar to take advantage of this rare opportunity to improve your speaking skills. Learn how to speak up and be heard. Many people consider the fear of speaking in front of a group of people to be a greater fear than the fear of dying. We can help you overcome that fear.
The number of participants is limited so registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Pre-registration is required by January 30th, 2013. Call Chuck Blethen at 828-606-3130 (e-mail: Blethen@GrapeSAVI.org
) or send your $20 participation check to Chuck Blethen, PO Box 4, Marshall NC 28753.
Toastmasters International has been providing a positive and encouraging environment for people to develop their speaking skills since 1924. Recent changes in the Toastmasters International program now emphasize the leadership aspects as well as continuing the focus on communication skills.
