The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee targeted Western North Carolina 11th District Republican Rep. Mark Meadows Jan. 3 immediately after he was sworn in to his first term, issuing the below satirical "Tea Party Membership Card." Here's the press release from the DCCC:

MEMBERSHIP CARD: Congressman Meadows Joins Tea Party Republican Congress

Congressman Mark Meadows (NC-11) has now joined the Tea Party Republican Congress. After Congressman Meadows was sworn in today, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee sent him this membership card as he is the newest member of the Republican Tea Party Majority in the House.

“The Tea Party Republican Congress has repeatedly chosen an extreme ideology instead of practical solutions and now Congressman Meadows has opted to join them,” said Jesse Ferguson of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “Congressman Meadows is the newest Tea Party House Republican who will put millionaires ahead of the middle class and dysfunction ahead of progress. This membership card will get Congressman Meadows into the Tea Party club but it also means he has left North Carolina’s middle class out in the cold.”
