The future of Venezuela in the wake of Hugo Chavez’ death will be the topic of the first Fall 2013 World Affairs Council series presentation, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3 in UNC Asheville’s Reuter Center. The series is co-sponsored by the WNC chapter of the World Affairs Council, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at UNC Asheville, and the university's Department of Political Science.
Maria Moreno and Greg Clemons, both members of the foreign languages faculty at Mars Hill College, will present their insight into Venezuela. Moreno recently returned from a summer trip to her hometown of Merida, Venezuela, where she received her undergraduate education at Universidad de Los Andes. At Mars Hill College, she is assistant professor of foreign languages; Clemons is a chair and professor of the Department of Modern Foreign Languages.
