Irish band Celtic Crossroads comes to UNCA Tuesday, Feb. 26

Press release

From UNC Asheville News Services
Celtic Crossroads, fusing bluegrass, gypsy, classical and jazz influences with traditional Irish music and dance, will perform at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26 in UNC Asheville’s Lipinsky Auditorium.

Celtic Crossroads takes its name from a time in Irish history – before the age of the Irish pub – when communities and villages met at their crossroads to make music and dance. Today, Celtic Crossroads features seven world-class musicians and twenty instruments, including the traditional Irish uilleann pipes and harps, as well as banjo, accordion, mandola and bouzouki, and dancers who seem to defy the laws of physics.

Tickets are $20; $15 for UNC Asheville faculty, staff and alumni; $7 for Asheville-area students; $5 for UNC Asheville students, and are available at uncatickets.com or at the Highsmith Student Union front desk.
