from Leadership Asheville
With broad community support and praise, Leadership Asheville’s Board-Ready program is returning on April 24-25th at the Renaissance Asheville Hotel. The enhanced format offers a greater depth of study and discussion on the second day of the two-day program. Participants can elect to take a deep dive into one of two areas: building a communications strategy and its impact on fund development or developing outcome - oriented strategies and the financial management to support them for long-term sustainability. Consistent with previous programs, Board-Ready participants will learn about the lifecycle of nonprofits, the roles and responsibilities of nonprofit board members, and overall best practices utilized by high functioning nonprofit boards.
Past Board –Ready participant David Hayes (LA 17) writes, “After years of serving on boards, I realized how little I truly understood about the roles and responsibilities of being a member of a non-profit board.”
Board-Ready is a 1.5-day program, designed to strengthen our community’s nonprofit organizations by providing individuals with the unique opportunity to acquire or hone the skills they need to be effective board members and share leadership with executive staff. While individual participation has great value, a team of Executive Director and Board Member can bring the most back to an organization.
