A Wake County Superior Court judge on Friday listened to arguments but made no ruling in Buncombe County’s long-running dispute over seating a seventh and final county commissioner.

Judge Paul Ridgeway gave no timetable for when he might issue a ruling. But he also knows that “everyone’s more or less in limbo,” said Bob Deutsch, an attorney for Democratic commissioner candidate Ellen Frost.

Frost finished 18 votes in front of Republican Christina Merrill in the race for the second of two seats representing Board of Commissioners District 2.
