UPDATE -- As a result of the investigation, 29 year old Torean Maurice Young of Asheville was charged with First Degree Murder and Possession of Firearm by Felon. He is being held at the Buncombe County Detention Facility with no bond.
The Asheville Police Department responded at 2:20 PM today to a shooting at Pisgah View Apartments. The incident left one man dead at the scene. Fabian Antonio Ruffin, 35, of Asheville, was shot and killed near the 33 building. Investigators are questioning witnesses and will be following up on leads throughout the night.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Asheville Police Department at 828-252-1110 or Asheville Buncombe Crime Stoppers at 828-255-5050 or send a tip via text message specifically to the Asheville PD by Texting "APDTIP plus your tip" to 274637 (CRIMES).
