RiverLink: Last chance to submit art and poetry inspired by the French Broad River for display

Press release

From RiverLink
Last chance to be a Voice of the River in 2013

If you haven't already, make sure your students get their French Broad River inspired art & poetry to the RiverLink office for consideration of a grand prize in the Voices of the River Contest.

The RiverLink office is located at 170 Lyman Street in the River Arts District, and we will be here from 8:00am to 5:00pm to accept work. If you are submitting work by mail, and for some reason you think it will not make it by Wednesday, March 20th at 5:00, please contact Nikki Bauman, RiverLink's Education Coordinator at 828-252-8474 x18. Sometimes snail mail takes longer than we plan for! That way we can make sure to get all the entries in the system by next week.

All submissions will be featured in our display at AB Tech's Holly Library during the month of April. The display will be open to the public on April 13th at 2:00pm including an awards ceremony and refreshments. Please plan to attend as you can participate in the fight against lead-based pollution in soils by creating your own Fundred Dollar Bill while browsing the artwork. If you cannot join us on Saturday, April 13th, then please make time to visit the library on your own to see these wonderful projects created by the students of our community.

Thank you for all of your participation in the contest this year!

Holly Library times include:

Spring Semester 2013

Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m

Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Saturday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Located in Asheville's River Arts District, RiverLink is a regional organization spearheading the economic and environmental revitalization of the French Broad River watershed as a destination where everyone can work, live and play.

For more information about how you can get involved, see our Web site: http://www.riverlink.org, or contact us at information@riverlink.org or by phone at 252-8474.
