Pardee Hospital is looking to take a possible $13.76 million hit next year as a result of federal and state budget cuts, CEO Jay Kirby told the board of directors at a meeting Wednesday.
The federal sequestration that began April 1 will reduce hospital revenues by $1.13 million, while the Affordable Care Act could possibly cause the hospital to lose $4.44 million. The combined effect totals $463,750 a month, or $5.5 million annually.
It’s still less than what the hospital could lose through state funding cuts, which are expected to be about $8.2 million, Kirby said.
