The Modern American Music Project (TMAMP) Presents "The Little Match Girl Passion" By David Lane. Directed and conducted by Michael Boustead, Dec. 5-8.
The production is a deeply affecting piece of great beauty and purity that won the Pulitzer Prize for New York composer David Lang in 2008. It is scored for four unaccompanied voices and percussion and tells the poignant story of Hans Christian Andersen’s little match girl as she wanders shoeless and sick through the snow on New Year’s Eve, trying to sell matches. Come hear this beautifully minimal setting of a haunting winter’s tale.
$25 per seat. $5 (20%) will be donated to Manna Food Bank.
