UNC Asheville to host community meeting on new signage, greenway plans

Press release

from UNC Asheville News Service

UNC Asheville will host a meeting to brief university neighbors on plans for new signage on and around campus, and progress on the Reed Creek greenway. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at UNC Asheville’s Sherrill Center, Mountain View Room. Parking will be available in the Sherrill Center deck at no cost, and all members of the community are encouraged to attend.

To make it easier for everyone to find their way onto and around campus, UNC Asheville has developed plans for new signs and banners designed to clearly mark the borders and entrances to campus, and to improve navigation inside campus. These signage and way-finding proposals have been developed as part of the university’s master planning process, with more information online at unca.edu/about/strategic-plan/campus-master-plan

The January 7 community meeting will provide an opportunity to learn more about these plans and provide feedback on proposed signage. After considering community feedback, UNC Asheville will finalize its signage and way-finding plan and submit the plan for approval by Asheville City Council.

For more information about the January 7 community meeting, please contact Elizabeth Becker at 828/251-6500.
