Press release
from the WNC YMCA

YMCA of Western North Carolina Invites Kids and Parents to Come Play at Healthy Kids Day™, April 13
On Saturday, April 13, 2013, the YMCA of Western North Carolina invites kids and parents in Buncombe County to “Play to Live and Live to Play” at the Y’s Healthy Kids Day™ presented by Greenlife.
As the leading nonprofit for strengthening communities, the Y holds Healthy Kids Day in order to bring families together to engage in fun, active play as well as learn healthier habits that will help them grow and thrive. Activities and admission are free and open to all, rain or shine.

At Healthy Kids Day, the nation’s largest health day for kids, families will enjoy music, games, face painting, bounce houses, fitness challenges, dance, prizes, and delicious, healthy food served by local restaurants. Raffles and giveaways will be taking place throughout the day, along with plenty of surprises!

Live music at Healthy Kids Day will feature performances by local Grammy Recognized kid-hop artist Secret Agent 23 Skidoo, and our very own LEAF in Schools and Streets performers.

Festivities will begin in Pack Square Park at 11:00 a.m. with a parade followed by an appearance by Asheville Mayor Terry Bellamy, and last until 5:00 p.m. For more information, call 828-210-9603 or visit http://www.ymcawnc.org.
