United Way’s 2-1-1 of WNC is a free, 24/7, community-service information line serving Buncombe, Henderson and Transylvania counties. People can call 2-1-1 from a land line, or 252-HELP from a cell phone, to find out where to get or give help in the community. The 2-1-1 database includes information on human services such as housing, food, medicine, support groups, recreation, money management, volunteer opportunities and much more. As one 2-1-1 caller relates, “2-1-1 provided me with alternatives that I hadn’t thought of on my own.
