We have lived in Swannanoa for five years and that’s not long by most folks’ standards around here. But it didn’t take us even five years to fall in love with Swannanoa NC.

It wasn’t a very deliberate decision to move here, but certainly a fortunate one. We are happy to be here and “celebrate” living Swannanoa every day. We are awed by the ever changing beauty of the mountains.

This is a peaceful valley with friendly people and lots of open spaces.  We have businesses, farms, fresh produce, schools, churches, and numerous civic organizations. There’s the Swannanoa Library, the Post Office, banks, restaurants, and many other businesses offering products and services.

Hiking is one of our favorite activities in the area. There are great trails at Warren Wilson College, along the Swannanoa River, on Jones Mountain and in other nearby areas such as the Montreat trails. It is just a hop down Hwy 70 to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the endless opportunities for hiking there, as well as stunning mountain views.
