Just saw where a young girl was attacked by three aggressive dogs..( this was the third time these dogs had attacked and then obviously been left to attack again)shes currently in the hospital having her head sown back together.. my family andI have been attacked three times in the last two years..once at Home Depot..a Doberman came for me and my dog and I knocked over a cash register and escaped.. the owner of the dog nonchalantly called his dog off no apology no nothing…the other incidence were similar except the other two dogs drew blood.. one bit my wifes hand and the other tore into my poodle and lacerated her back…What gives…these animals are scarey.. many of their owners seem to have a secret satisfaction in scaring the crap out of us..I say enough is enough…these animals are as deadly as guns and the owners of such beasts that allow them to harm others should be treated as the criminals they are… assault with a deadly weapon…police..lawmakers.. animal control ..lets do your job.. protect the public.. everytime I see an aggressive dog I’m scared to death,, I was attacked by a doberman when I was 10 years old and he lacerated my leg.. after that I carried a pellet gun where ever I went…what ever loop hole that has allowed these beasts to harm us must be closed..owners of aggressive dogs need to be scared to death of letting these killers loose… let’s do it let’s do it now…

The most awful thing your pet has ever done

My dog has spent much of the last six months slowly ruining the carpet in my apartment, virtually guaranteeing that I’ll never see my deposit again. It got me thinking about other people and their pets, and how my turmoil is probably petty when compared to the high-drama tales some of you have to tell.

So, let’s hear some tales about how your pets have ruined, wrecked and otherwise destroyed your lives, all the while being oh-so-cute in the process.

On many occasions we have observed our Rat Terrier seemingly reading our minds. Is this just our imagination or can they really read our thoughts somehow? The following link is to several articles regarding this subject. What do you think?

In August I got this 7 month old puppy (now about 9 mos) who is a mix of Jack Russel, Beagle, and something else small and yappy, such as a Dachshund or something. So far, she is very good with the kids and is learning to listen and be good in most regards. She seems pretty smart.

However, she chews everything. I know this is common with puppies, but when does it end? I’ve tried teaching her what is OK to chew on and have given her plenty of chew toys. But she will snatch your shoe the moment you turn around, and have the laces cut within seconds.

I have already lost 2 Wii nunchucks, an iPod charger, the futon cover, a backpack, a bed sheet, the strap on my laptop satchel, two leashes, one of my kid’s shoes, and two couch pillows.

WHEN WILL IT END???

Dead cats

I’ve always heard that cats will wander off when it is time to die, never to be seen or heard from again. Have you found this to be true?

I ask because my first cat died two years ago on the dining room floor while I was petting her. My second cat was found dead in the driveway today, and I get to go bury him after work. He wasn’t run over or anything—just dead. The vet told us 6 years ago he only had about 3 months to live due to a heart condition, but he made it much longer, so he had a good life.

So is it common for cats to hang around when they die?

I recently got a puppy, so maybe she will be the wandering off type when her time comes.

Suspect arrested on child porn charges blames cat
August 6th, 2009 by Jason Schultz

JENSEN BEACH — A well-known mathematical theory states that a group of monkeys randomly typing on a typewriter could eventually write the complete works of William Shakespeare by pure chance.

But Martin County Sheriff’s investigators said there is no chance that one cat could randomly type words on a computer keyboard to download child pornography 1,000 times.
Keith Griffin

But that’s the excuse that 48-year-old Keith Griffin, of Jensen Beach, gave after investigators found 1,000 images of child pornography on his computer, detectives say. Griffin was arrested today on 10 counts of possession of child pornography.

According to a sheriff’s report, detectives conducting online investigations in July discovered that Griffin was downloading pictures of children as young as 8 years old having sex from file-sharing programs.

When deputies searched Griffin’s home and talked to him, he told detectives that he would leave the room sometimes while downloading music and when he returned, his cat had jumped up on the keyboard and strange images were downloaded.

Griffin is being held in the Martin County Jail on $250,000 bail. The cat was not charged with any crimes and is being cared for by a family friend, according to sheriff’s officials.

the comments below the article were full of lols. my favorite was

CATS ARE NOTORIOUS FOR THEIR BAD SPELLING … THIS ONE PROBABLY MEANT TO DOWNLOAD “KITTY” PORN AND ENDED UP WITH “KIDDIE” PORN INSTEAD

.

from:(for some reason the mx wont let me link to the treasure coast talk. i suppose because ‘kiddie porn” is in the title)

So, I’m Planning On Getting A Cat

We’re looking at getting a cat to round out our yuppie life here in Spartanburg. We already have the lazy English bulldog. Now, we need some kind of dog-friendly, largely lazy cat to annoy it with.

I haven’t had a cat in eons, and have never really shopped for one. Most of the ones I did have were strays that we sort of adopted. I’m clueless about the options available.

Any suggestions on breeds? The more dog-friendly the better. And kitten or cat?

People With Illegal Chickens As Pets Form ‘CLUCK’ (Campaign For Legalization Of Urban Chicken)

This seems relevant since Asheville is on the cutting edge of chicken decriminalization. From some TV station news site I found on Fark ...

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (CBS) - Some Sacramento families are hiding illegal pets; they’re chickens. But, now there’s a growing group looking to change the law.

It’s a different kind of chicken and egg debate.

... The hens fly the coop and rule the backyard roost. And how about this for earning their keep? Fresh eggs for the family and the chickens eat the backyard flies.

And that’s where Cluck comes in.

“It’s the campaign for the legalization of urban chicken keeping,” Crouch explains.

The group is bringing together lawbreakers like Crouch, and there are a lot of them.

The group numbers in Cluck have tripled in the few weeks, and they’re hatching a plan to the change the law and free everyone from the chicken coop closet.

So, is this just some fad, or am I going to have to worry about my neighbors in Spartanburg putting in a coop? My property value!
