Ladies and gentlemen! Boys and girls! Monkeys of all ages!

The OxyMorons are excited, proud, and generally elated to present the return of Improv Comedy to Asheville!

Next week you can catch The OxyMorons bringing their unique brand of improv comedy to Asheville Community Theatre’s 35below Studio on Thursdays and Fridays in June starting at 8pm. June 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th, 26th, and 27th Come see one show, come see every show. No matter what, since it’s improv, EVERY SINGLE SHOW WILL BE BRAND, SPANKING NEW!

Tickets are only $10 at the door, or you can reserve tickets early by calling the 35below box office at 254-1312. Seating is limited and shows are very likely to sell out!

But there’s a bonus there! If the show is sold out at 8pm, we’ll do everything in our power to perform A SECOND SHOW at 9:30pm. The 8pm show will be clean and family friendly (still funny, even for those of you with a twisted mind). But if we do a show at 9:30...it’s gonna get rough. Remember...that’s only IF the 8pm shows sells out.

You can also sign up for our magical mailing list to get our newsletter, discounts and be the first to find out about special shows and events.

To sum up:
WHERE: 35below (35 E. Chestnut St. below Asheville Community Theatre)
WHEN: 8pm June 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27
HOW MUCH: $10 at the door or reserved by calling 254-1320.

Can’t wait to see you laughing in the front row! Until then, check us out on YouTube.

Curses and DOOM!

I posted the wrong phone number for the box office! NOOOOOOOOO!

Oh well. It’s fixed now, but here’s the right phone number.

254-1320

Sorry about that. By the way! If you’re interested in tickets for the shows, you can also order online. Just visit the Asheville Community Theatre website and click the “buy tickets now” button and you’re on your way.

Hope to see you this weekend at 35below!

I don’t have a spleen.

Seriously, I don’t.

My God! Our funny is much stronger than I imagined. Look, I’ve got a spleen waiver form that I’ll need you to sign so that you promise to not hold us accountable for your spleen-related tragedies.

If you missed our shows last week, you’ve got more chances!

Thursday and Friday this week at 8pm. Tickets are $10 - buy at the door, from the box office (254-1320), or online at AshevilleTheatre.org (click the “Buy Tickets Now” button). Again, and this I promise, SEATING IS LIMITED.

No matter what I’ve said before, we’re only doing one show a night...and it’ll probably be about two hours long. We had so much fun last week, that we didn’t want to stop the comedy train to let anyone else on. Let the hobos starve!

Come out and enjoy the funny! And don’t forget The Feral Chihuahuas on Saturday nights - all new material that will ruin what little is left of your spleen after you catch our show.

I don’t have a spleen.

Seriously, I don’t.

You’re like some failed applicant for the role of Dorothy’s sidekick.

“Who do we go with, the Tin Man without a heart, or the DVD guy without a spleen? Thoughts, Jenkins?”

“Well boss, the DVDs are pretty hip with the kids these days. Or course, no one has the foggiest idea what a spleen is for.”

“It’s an important blood reservoir, Jenkins. But it lacks that cool thump-thump urban rhythm.”

“In that case, sir, I say we go with the tin guy. Unless we can find a guy without a liver who is made from discarded iPods, that is. That would be cinematic gold.”

You let me down from the beginning.

Look, a comedy troupe with a wacky name. And the crowd roars with indifference.

The first person to say that to me was the director of the Toronto Comedy Festival, right before laughing at one of my shows. So, my good man, I have heard worse from better.

Our first name choice didn’t test well in focus groups. That’s why we’re not Asheville’s own “Terminally Ill Orphans.”

Bugg versus the Livengoods in a battle of wits? It’s like my dreams have finally come true.

If I was in a battle of wits with these guys I’d check my brain so we could start even. I refuse to battle them. It’d be like shame fighting with stupidity.

I’m not so sure. The Livengoods are the Bob Sagets of local comedy, the OxyMorons their “Full House.” What you’ve seen on stage is the nice, polite version. I hunger for an unrestrained showdown.
