I’m thinking about buying a new video game console, giving me something to do while I wait out the summer heat. What I’m looking for are fun, worthwhile games from the last year or so. Since I haven’t bought a console yet, feel free to mention anything on Wii, Xbox 360 or PS3.

So, what should I consider buying, and why?

My love/hate affair with World of Warcraft is back ON.

I can tell you the popular rentals this summer.  Guitar Hero is still going strong.  Two superhero games are actually good: Iron Man and The Hulk.  Ninja Gaiden II, Bourne Files… and I’m sure I"m forgetting a few.

One of my neighbors is a Guitar Hero maniac. He’s got the whole drum/guitar/bass/mic thing. I played it for the first time last weekend, and was destroyed on anything but “Easy.”
