Having been an X-Files fan since the Pilot, I’m pretty excited about this new film. Planning on going to see it during a matinee tomorrow afternoon. I’ve got my fingers crossed that it’s good! :)

My expectations are low. The X-Files was great, but they ran the series into the ground. I couldn’t even watch the last season.

The movie was OK. I’d rate it at 3 out of 5 stars. It was like watchig a two-hour episode of the show. I do wish it was better most definitely.

The X-Files was really awesome back in the day—it was one of the most cinematic shows on TV by far—but I think its time has long passed. That said, shows like “Lost” and “Heroes” owe a lot to the X-Files for breaking sci-fi from the stigma of “Star Trek” fandom.

I doubt I’ll see the movie, though. I’d rather have vaguely happy memories of the half-forgotten series than deeply disappointed ones of the film.

I’ll probably get it on DVD later on. I was a fan of the series but let down and confused by the end of it. Now I have all the seasons on DVD, but have only watched some of season 1 so far.
