Well, that’s pretty clear. Have you taken to dancing on couches yet, or is that a higher level?

You people are godless heathens.  You’re all going to die and go to Dollywood for eternity.

The thing I like most about Scientology is that they have been found to be a completely criminal organization in much of Europe, had no end of legal troubles in the States (Operation Snow White comes to mind) and are called out for their activities all the time by ex-members.

The thing I like only slightly less than that is that this clandestine group does all this because they believe that an evil alien overlord brought a bunch of dissidents to Earth, put them at the base of a volcanco, then blew up the volcano with nuclear weapons. The souls of these aliens haunt us to this day.

And people say D&D;players are weird.

That’s just what we want you to think. We are gamers, and we are legion.

Ummm, well I’ve written for DRAGON MAGAZINE, did a book on Ultima and FOUR books on Leisure Suit Larry (I am, in fact, Larry’s official biographer because I made up all his backfill story).

and I played Nethack for years on Linux to relax (Nethack is kinda D&D;on steroids with a +12 atomic engine).

Your geek credentials speak for themselves. Play on, my d20 brother, play on.

But Nethack? C’mon, man. Ancient Domains of Mystery (ADOM) is the rogue-like of my heart.

Beck is a Scientologist.

It made me not like his music anymore.

Now, I will probably get sued for saying that.

Didn’t Hubbard start the whole idea of Scientology as a bet to see how many people would fall for it? He most likely won his bet. In case anyone is unsure, L. Ron Hubbard was a science fiction writer. Many Hollywood types continue to give him $ anyway.

There’s a great scene in the movie “Bowfinger” from years back that lampoons Scientology. They visit an organization called “Mindhead” that requires members to wear pyramid shaped hats and they bilk member of their money.
