Yeah, i think it’s a shame, but Arlene and Robert worked hard just to get 2 River Sculpture Festivals thru the Asheville Parks system and i don’t blame them for looking for a different venue. It’s just that the space of the French Broad park was perfectly suited for this kind of thing along with a lot of traffic for viewing - especially by us common people.
So, overall i’m glad it’s still going on but sad it didn’t happen here in WAsheville.

It’s weird. It seems like the city and the Winklers could have made this happen. It was one of the few reasons (other than taking my dog to the Dog Park) to ever go to that place.
Today at the French Broad River Park i saw that the most of park’s cement slabs were tagged with "Art Removed" and ‘Art Removed For Your Protection.’ These slabs were where for the last two years the Winklers had worked hard despite the Asheville Cultural Art and Parks people to get the French Broad River Sculpture Festival up and running.
I have a bunch of photos of them if the MX is interested
I’m going to try to get to Woodfin to get shots of the sculptures. It’s just what i do, i can’t help myself. Just like Jason Bugg can’t help being handsome, yaknow?
