Liked “The Dark Knight” a bit more (except for the end with Dent, which I wish had been its own movie). But, not having any particular love for Iron Man, I thought it was a good flick.
Steve, I’m not a big Iron Man myself either, but I came out of the movie liking him a lot. Of course, that could just be a like for Downey in the film, who knows? :)
Yeah, Iron Man was pretty much universally hated after Marvel’s Civil War debacle. Now, with Secret Invasion (geek flag flying high) he’s becoming an actual hero again. They did a good job showing his inner conflicts in the run up to this event.
On topic, Iron Man: rocked. Hellboy 2: rocked. Dark Knight: rocked.
Well there is that, but Watchmen was more about what you could do with comic books. The panel layout, the big volumes of text at the end of each issue, the repeating visuals. Everything about it just screams comic book.

A smart director/script writer could echo a lot of that stuff in a film. It wouldn’t be the same, obviously, but it at least wouldn’t be completely offensive. I’ll never forgive Brett Ratner and crew for screwing up the significantly less complex Dark Phoenix saga.
