Can someone summarize that link for me? All I’m getting is music.

Essentially what Matt says: Jason posted some crude stuff about Dr. Carl Mumpower on his own blog, and on Scrutiny Hooligans. A letter were sent (real letter) to Clear Channel (the owners of WWNC, Jason had been on Matt Mitan’s show). So Jason and Gordon at Scrutiny are in trouble with Matt.

That’s about it. For the full details check that your computer has the latest Flash and Java updates (not sure which one that link uses)… but it’s worth listening to.

Once money gets involved, the big hammer comes down.

Oh that’s just great.

Did Mittan say if that letter to Clear Channel was anonymous too?

Jason,

If you want to mitigate the damage, I suggest some sort of public apology stunt. Something that will survive on U-Tube for weeks.

Mittan would probably be able to rehabilitate and reinsert you into the show if, say, you let MtnX film T-pig waterboarding you as “penance”. Just an example.

Yuck: The letter to Clear Channel was apparently from Don Yelton.

Ralph: I highly doubt they’re “in trouble” with Mittan, especially since so many libs see Mittan as a right winger. I doubt either one really, truly care. But it all makes for great local high drama.

Yes, Matt says it was Don Yelton, I don’t know. Only reporting what Matt said.

However, Matt did say Jason would never pass through the MattCave again and that Gordon now had two strikes against him. I interpret that as being in trouble.

Libs see Matt as a right winger, conservatives see him as liberal; he’s never claimed to be either --- hence, the name of show “Take A Stand.”

I respect him greatly for that.

Amusing how these fruitcakes like Mittan, Yelton, and the anonymous letter writer take someone’s silly, obviously satirical, if too crude, ramblings so very seriously.  Apparently there is not enough to do in Asheville.

Anyway, hopefully some of Bugg’s saboteurs will reveal themselves so that they can be properly taken to the cleaners (by which I mean smeared all over this message board).

Look, in all reality I’m on Bugg’s side here and sincerely hope he doesn’t tone down his act to placate anyone.

That said, when you publicly say you sincerely hope Mumpy’s family members go to jail, joke about his, ahem, oral proclivities and satirically say you hope he dies, people are gonna take issue with it. Welcome to the real world.

Bugg’s saboteurs? Himself, Yelton, Mumpower and the Carolina Stompers. Guaranteed. Now go get ‘em, boy.

Even before I saw Yelton’s name I thought this was Stomper-related. Stompers squash a bug, huh? I suppose they need a cheap “victory” now and then.

In effect, Jason painted a great big target in florescent paint on his butt and gave all his enemies shotguns loaded with rock salt. It’s no surprise that a few of them took the shot.

Jason has no one to blame but Jason.

That said, I do miss his stupid, inane, yet often funny comments.

I agree Bugg - despite your grumpy demeanor and often off-colour ‘sense of humor’

uhhhh ... ahem. for the record, the mumpower article i liked was the newly revised one ... didn’t see the first one and didn’t know about it until afterward. i’m sure i wouldn’t have made it through it. which is a case in point ... people will read the whole thing AND like your writing when you are civilized ...

I’m sorry I missed this. Every message board has a DRAMABOMB, and this seems to be the first one.

Interesting that Matt would cave to ClearChannel pressures. I distinctly remember him going on and on a few months back about how ClearChannel was such a great employer, and how he had never experienced any kind of top-down management from them ever.

Yeah right.

A lot of what Matt reports on is refreshing, but in general he comes off as trying too hard, in my opinion. Just like Limbaugh or Olberman, I dont think he believes a good bit of what he says, but merely tries hard to act like a character he has created. His “Convictions” appear to be affectations.

I think its ironic that he calls it “Take a Stand”, when really it should be called something like “Transparently trying to seem both Conservative and Liberal at the same time, without ever actually having an opinion with much substance.” But that would sound as cool as “Take a Stand!”

This is the first I’ve heard of him banning the Bugg, but it makes me less likely to tune in again.
