One of my heroes.
I’ll be watching Cool Hand Luke tonight, the first Newman film I ever saw and that endeared him to me forever. After that, The Hustler.

Godspeed Paul.

It’s a real shame. He was a great actor and an admirable person. He’ll be missed.

You know he joined Team Nissa at age 54?  Unreal.  At his age most people are dreaming about Lincoln Town cars and relaxation, not driving this rig at break neck speeds.  This shot was at Daytona and was an intro of Nissan’s 280ZX.

Agreed, but why call this ‘a real shame’.  We can’t live forever.  He has left a great body of work for us to enjoy and remember him by.  He’ll always be here.  Now, James Dean’s passing was a real shame.

For those of us who like science fiction, I’ve put up this tribute to Paul Newman:

“Tales of Tomorrow” was an early science fiction anthology show. The episode “Ice From Space” includes a young Paul Newman as Sergeant Wilson. The plot concerns an Army sounding rocket that returns from space with a mysterious block of ice that freezes everything around it.

That was one of the best gum chewing performances I’ve ever seen.  Thanks for digging that up Ralph.
