DISCLAIMER: This isn’t a thread about the films the theater shows, the people who work there, or the people who run the business. I have no problem with that.

But doesn’t it suck to go see movies there?

The screens are tiny (especially the downstairs one) and the seats are too small for my big fat USAmerican ass.

Upstairs: I came to watch a movie, not gasp as I climbed Mount Steep Seats.

Love that place, though.

When I want to vibrate, I simply have an extra cup of coffee in the morning.

I saw The Last Dragon and Return of the Jedi in the theater before it was a porn theater.

Which older version do you mean? When it showed only porn or when it was the Strand?

I enjoy the upstairs theater or as Ralph would say “Thea ate her”.  I haven’t been there in a while.  Asheville would be lacking without a place for the indie film scene.  It is a treasure.
