where’s firestorm?

allright, disclosure….plenty of wine….

no, really.

where’s firestorm?

c’mon

far as i know the only employee owned establishment in these parts….

good coffee…

some grub…

they’ll let your weird ass group of malcontents meet….

and they’ve got a collection of graphic novels…

some ‘zines…

some Zinn to stay respectable…

free, untraceable interwebs….

patches…

beer close enough by….

and they’re employee owned….

pluto i expected more…..

i mean,
i ain’t sayin’, i’m just sayin’

They’re behind the Thirsty Monk. They have a little sign that says “cafe” and everything (I’m helping with the permits to get a bigger sign. I really need to get on that.) I’m no coffee expert, but I do like theirs.

I buy my coffee at Dynamite in black mountain and make it in a combo mug/press.

Best invention ever.

When I don’t have it with me (which is extremely rare) I get my fix at Firestorm or Clingman.

best two coffees I have had were pulled by the best two barristas I have seen both girls

one at the bookshop at coxe and patton .... that girl pulled the perfectly tight doppio nad had creamy foam not to stiff with a heart centered as well as it can be done

the other was at that place near mela that girl pulled a great single shot and looked distant and vacant the entire time ... but she got everything those beans had to give and nothing more ...

It was called Everyday Gourmet but they sold Gold Hill coffee. Same address, confusing name-changes.  The horror, the horror.

That was a pretty amazing selection of loose tea.

The old ‘Old Europe’ (what’s it called now?) is where I go for loose tea.

Got hooked on Mayorga coffee, a place in MD. Fresh beans, and they ship.
And, the best coffee in town, is indeed at my place. Have the Cuisinart
grind and brew. When I come in from taking George out, it’s done, and I
can pour it in my mouth.

Customers, homey.

Still have his books. One of my favorites of all time is the picture of somebody’s baby day-care, and next to it, separated by a wire fence, is a Dingo farm. Caption reads: “Trouble brewing.”

When I was working at making s/w engineers sound like they know English, they took the cartoon with two couples sitting across from each other, one couple is bandaged to the hilt, and the other woman says: “Oh what a cute cat! Is he friendly?” The guys blew up the cartoon, changed the word “cat” to “editor” and put it on the door to my office. Nice to be loved.

Guess i’m not up on the hep scene…

drunk man.

anyone else?

coffee? Tea? Cigars? Cigarillos?

Best cigarettes and Octopus Gardens carries them. Nat Sherman’s MCD. I just switched to the light version (think they, as well as all other marketing-inspired people, spell it “lite.”). Good stuff.

Pardon the incorrect reply placement on Larson. Haven’t had as much meds today as I should’ve, I guess.

No. Byron was one of the best bosses I’ve ever had.  He was into bears, so maybe he saw me as a cub or an otter.

I’m still partial to the Dripolator, and now with its new location, it is even closer to home!
