And referring to a man in his mid-30’s as a child certainly isnt baiting, is it?

Yep it is actually.  Y’all have a good evening kids. Dang, mid thirties huh?  Tell you the truth, thought you were ten years younger but still, my son is 41 so to me your still a kid.

You should try and find a sense of humor, it is what separates us from dogs and Libertarians.

Tom loves to backseat mod. Let’s keep calling him on it and see if he retires.

Everybody wants to control things.  At least I’m up front about it while others, like Mr Bugg, use a different strategy with a similar goal, to make of this forum what HE would like it to be.  Que sera sera.

I’d like for this to be a forum where people post interesting topics, have fun and don’t take things seriously. Sort of like the exact opposite of what you do on here.

Fun, my dear fellow, is in the eye of the beholder. I know what you call fun is something entirely different in the eyes of your victims. If this topic was of no interest to you perhaps you could explain to all why you bothered coming here to trash it with your inane comments.  Do you even have a dog?  I suspect not.

But I do thank you for substantiating what I said.  You too are a control freak bent on having things your way. In the end neither of us will prevail.  The field will go to those who have the real decision making powers.  I don’t think, in the long run, that will be favorable to your modus operandi.

What’s Libertarians got to do with anything?  Are you stoned? You should try not mimicking your guru Bugg. <chuckle>  Like him, what you consider fun or humorous may not appear so to others. Like it’s fun to trash a topic you find boring instead of just avoiding it, right?  My sense of humor is really quite well developed but, of course, I rarely show it on these boards as my style of humor doesn’t fit well in this format.

Well, that was certainly casting pearls before…...a068.gif

What if the dogs aren’t telepathic, but YOU have the telepathic ability to transmit your thoughts to dogs? That’d be weird.

Someone get GloLady on the line. We need to see if such a thing is even possible within the rigid framework of pseudo-science.

It seems to me that BOTH of you are wrestling for control of something that you are a part of, and as Thomas says later, cannot ultimately have control over.  Additionally, i think you two are too much alike (obstinate and competitive) to ever agree on much.  So stop trying, please.

And i disagree with you on this point, Thomas.  I don’t want to control things.  Perhaps that is in fact why i’ve been tasked (or burdened if you will) with it.  Control freaks want to control everything.  Some people who are insecure need control to feel life is contiguous or has some kind of meaning, but not everyone wants to control things.

What do I want control over? I just want a place to post where people aren’t being hall monitors all the time. If that makes me a control freak, then I guess about 90% of the posters here are control freaks.

Quit being diplomatic.

Tom, as has been stated previously, if you didnt spend half your time on here back-seat modding and telling others how they should behave on these forums, and the other half complaining about how everyone tells YOU how to behave, then a dialogue could ocurr.

Instead, you just come off as someone turning every thread into a drama about him. I suggest having your wife read your posts before you submit them. Get a sense of humor. Nobody here is seeking your fatherly advice, so keep it to yourself.

When you accuse others of trying to “control the conversation”, what you really mean is, they are taking the conversation somewhere YOU are not willing to let it go. That mean, *GASP*, YOU are the one trying to control. GET. OVER> YOUR. SELF.

You send me PM’s talking about how i’m “ruining your forum experience for you”, and yet here you are, ignoring 4 or 5 people’s advice ont he topic. Seriously. Wake up.

Perhaps we could open a Thomas only thread? Seriously. Just give him control over one thread, and he can moderate everyone’s posts, and perhaps leave all the other ones alone? Really. It’s kind of like giving into terrorism, but,it might avoid these weekly drama fests with him “retiring” and then coming back picking fights.

Well see, maybe it’s you who needs to check on his sense of humor.  I thought I was funny so, as I said, you too have proven my point.  It all depends on who’s seeing the humor.  We do agree on one thing, we don’t appreciate each other’s sense of humor.

I would like to see fewer posts involving humor that I don’t get and more paternalistic, rambling sermons that don’t seem to so much further any discussion, but rather fulfill a self-serving need to be a sanctimonious buzzkill and at the same time blather on and on about my personal spiritual journey and how wild a life I have led but I just can’t find anyplace to post because it’s probably everyone else on the internet who is the problem and certainly not me.

It’s totally, Totally possible. Some humans are known to develop person-to-dog telepathy in their later years. Dogepathy, i believe it is known as.
