This was suggested as a topic.

Apparently there are those among us who are experts on the subject.

When I want to vibrate, I simply have an extra cup of coffee in the morning.

I worked at a drug and alcohol treatment facility opened by a friend of ours in Sedona, AZ which was based on a system called “Rational Recovery”. The program was developed by Jack Trimpey.  You casn read all about it at the following web site:  http://www.rational.org/

Basically it eschewed the principles that are the basis for the so called 12 Step programs and boasted a far better success rat than this method and did not require a life long commitment to attending meetings.  Many who attended the program were capable of controlled consumption as the program relied heavily on self awareness and did not espouse the disease model of alcohol dependency.

Other therapeutic techniques were also employed including EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and Jon Kabat-Zinn ‘s Mindfulness meditations. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon_Kabat-Zinn

EFT was a method that was taught to clients and could be used by them without assistance to help curb the impulses associated with addictive behavior. There is, in fact, currently a multiple Wednesday seminar on this procedure being offered in Asheville at Lighten Up Yoga, instructor Gary Schwartz, Phd.  Unfortunately, if you’re interested in this, the first session was this past Weds.
