This is a great beer: RJ Rockers Bald Eagle Brown Ale. For me it’s local, for you it’s regional. You should weep that I’m even sharing its glory with you.

Now its’ your turn. What’s your favorite local or regional brew?

Highland Oatmeal Stout.

And Pisgah pale ale. In a growler.

And as the Disclaimer has pointed out in the past, Highland’s Black Mocha Stout is great to vomit up later if you drink more than one or two. tastes almost as sweet and rich coming up as going down.

Black Mocha Stout is a fine brew. It’s like drinking a cake.

Absolutely.

Throwing it up at 3am is similar to throwing up cake at 3am, as well.

Dont get me wrong, I like the stuff.

Oh, shit. Now one of us will have to stop drinking it, Bob. I’m far to opposed to you ideologically to enjoy the same beer as you.

How about the first person to sucker-punch Shanafeltski gets mineral rights?

Do whatever you want with your Pisgah brews, just keep away from my RJ Rockers.

I think it’s extraordinary on tap (the Pale). The other stuff I could take or leave.

I have been enjoying some tasty brews from The Wedge gallery/brewery.  Their porter is mighty fine, and the grand cru-esque Golem is fantastic.  For around the house (local) beers we usually have highland oatmeal porters in the fridge.

Steve,
I didn’t think you were a beer drinker! I’ll have to try the Rocker’s.

I’m a fan of Pisgah’s Red Devil—a high gravity ale made with fresh raspberries. Yum! I also like their Valdez—coffee-flavored stout. It’s rich, but you only need one (plus, with the added caffeine, it’s an ideal lunch beer—not that I drink at lunch very often).

There are a couple of Wedge brews I’ve liked, and a couple I haven’t. Same with Green Man. I do like Green Man’s Porter.

I love Asheville Brewing Company’s Roland’s Red Ale and their Scottish Ale. Both are smooth and delicious. The Shiva’s too hoppy for me.

French Broad has an excellent Wit beer as well, if you’re into wheat beers.

I’m not, really. I sometimes drink socially, but that’s about it. As a result, I’m fairly picky about what I drink. But when I find something I like, I tend to stick with it.

I’m a fan of Asheville Brewing Company’s Ninja Porter. I may not have sampled all the lovely beers Asheville has to offer, but I do like that stuff.
