And yet you bristle at the idea of poor people living in the housing project of the rural south: trailers.
no. i did mention the million dollar homes too. i take up issue with people having no pride in their living space and developers developing in the name of change, million dollar homes don’t change a community at its core. and no, it is not true for everyone who resides out there. anything else you’d like to dish out to me this morning?
And people “having no pride in their living space” isn’t exactly what’s happening. What’s happening is that people are having their slice of what they were told was the American Dream: owning something. Their problem isn’t a lack of pride, it’s too much pride in having too little.
It’s probably easy to sit in a hip neighborhood and look down on the yokels, but if you look a little closer you’ll see the real root of what’s happening.
And yet it still doesn’t change the fact that Leicester, the land of single wides and McMansions is probably twenty times nicer and cooler than that gentrified shithole people call West Asheville.

And I’m FROM West Asheville.
I never said Leicester wasn’t nice, I loved to wake up there look out my window and be able to see for miles. I liked it at night when it was pitch black and quiet.
I didn’t move to west Asheville to be hip, I moved cause I was broke… it was close to my job and the grocery store, on the bus route if my peice of crap car broke down. You can’t paint over things with the million dollar homes. You can live in a singlewide trailer and be proud, you can be prideful in having less too. Simpleness in life is totally underrated. However, like I said I have a problem with people who don’t take pride in their surroundings ya know the ones who trailers are falling apart, dirty, with beer cans all over the lawn. And now your rebuttle about how I don’t like people who drink…? Try a lil’ harder to run me off the boards cause I am “new to posting”.
Meta (from Greek: μετά = “after”, “beyond”, “with”, “adjacent”, “self”), is a prefix used in English in order to indicate a concept which is an abstraction from another concept, used to complete or add to the latter.
