Is that Lake Crabtree? Where will the shad run now?

It’s not like there is a local Sunday paper handing out free zeitgeist anymore.

That is clearly a marsh, where shad and their kind are not allowed.

I see it everyday, yet I am not one to complain about it.

God’s country.

I love people’s reaction to Leicester. It proves to me that most people don’t like poor white people.

I have to agree with your statement Jason. I think that Leicester has to be one of the most FRIENDLY towns in all of North Carolina. Yeah.. god forbid you are a poor white person in the south… lol!

Man.. I should of gone out to Leicester today. It’s been SO long since I’ve been around friendly people by gosh! I like it cuz it’s a basic nice country town.. that’s NOT overrun by all the rich arrogant folk who come to Asheville and then want to turn our town into the next Charlotte!
These people are just trying to get by the best way they can. Alot of people out there are farmers or have animals. I’ve always liked living in the country.

Man, if I was going to vote the nicest, most pleasant, scenic place to live that isn’t run over with crime, i think Leicester might well win my vote!

but there is nothing “fancy” about it. I think I like that facet about Lester.. People are just down to earth and don’t run around trying to impress others.

It’s great out there. Let’s hope the darn developers let it alone. We need SOME country left by golly!

am not sure if it’s “under-rated” or not, but I love the neighborhood of north Asheville near Beaverdam Lake. It rocks there. Love the older houses, so pretty and well-preserved. I’m a big fan of houses built with stone and there are so many homes built like that! Love that look!

Gotta thank Mr. Vanderbilt for bringing all those great architects to our area! :)
