With all this “death of print” stuff talk finally becoming mainstream news, I thought I’d see if any of us actually still read print magazines.

Me? I generally don’t subscribe to anything—I used to belong to “Bizarre” and “Discover” a few years ago—but my wife recently got me a year-long membership to “Mental Floss,” and she’s signed-up with “The Atlantic” and “Cooking Light.” Her grandparents, out of misdirected love, no doubt, gave her a “Readers Digest” subscription as well.

What about you? Any magazine subscriptions you want to ‘fess up to?

Like some other people are known to do, I mostly sign other people up for subscriptions, but only things they are interested in and only if I am married to them. I found ridiculous good deals on Blender, Rolling Stone, Self and Shape and got them for my wife. I had subscribed to Consumer Reports for the last year but it recently lapsed and now I only have Entertainment Weekly and Shaved Beaver.

Rolling Stone. The comic shop holds books for me all the time, however.

The New Yorker and National Geographic. Used to subscribe to more, but as I barely find the time to read those two (my faves), I cut all other subscriptions. Though my Dad sends me Prevention Mag, for some reason.

Easily my favorite magazine.

I also enjoy an adbusters every now and then, but couldnt imagine paying for it. Self-righteous little bourgie tools they are. i just read it at the co-op or greenlife.

Permaculture Activist is a good one too, oftentimes. Used to be published out of Earthhaven Black Mountain, although i believe it has moved to colorado?

You should get it again. It is an unusually good read.

and three i miss which are no longer around: who cares?, nerve and blue (i think blue was the name ... it came with a free mix cd every issue!)  ...
