YES! i get the sun too ... we’re forming a meetup around discussion, if you’re interested (or already one of the four?) ...
also, just started “fast company” ... (very few will i subscribe to in print anymore) ...
and three i miss which are no longer around: who cares?, nerve and blue (i think blue was the name ... it came with a free mix cd every issue!) ...
That’s funny. I used to have a Sun subsciption and then we started selling it in our store. CP is supposed to bring an unsold copy home every month and it’s been a while. Ahem, CP?
i have none.
basicly because it takes me way too long to understand all this funny words… and it is too time consuming with a n translation book an the lap…
i online read (on german) websited what i want to know.
that holds me stupid enough in english but gives me funtime in german
I’m afraid you have misunderstood the meaning of my post. You see, in English, the word “burn” can be used as the Urban Dictionary describes:
”burn: SLANG An exclamatory response, generally used by a third party after someone has just received an insult.”
Therefore, your suggestion that PFKaP spends far too much time in online message forums to fully enjoy the information you gave him could have been perceived as an insult and I, the third party, was well within my parameters to label your missive as a burn, with the addition of an animated graphic depicting it as such. This has become a somewhat running gag hereabouts with the “ice burn” graphic and my modification to the type of burn being a “deutsch” one was an extremely witty one that played on both your German nationality (which is not the same as a race, by the way) as well as the other running theme we have been having recently whereby the same poster, PFKaP, was unsuccessfully trying to used deutsch as a malaprop of douche.
So, as you can see, I was not being racist in any sense of the word, because A) German isn’t a race and B) if we are both caucasian then we are the same race and C) since half my relatives settled here from Germany in the 1700s, I can’t be anti-German either and D) You don’t know what I am talking about but did not let that stop you from immediately jumping to accusatory conclusions, which is annoying in any language and E) this is all taking away from a great joke I went to a lot of trouble to make, so stop being such a shower.
brebro is not suggesting that we should burn German people. Everyone here teases Pfkap about how much he posts and sometimes we use “burn” to mean “tease.”
It’s slang, and the more I think about it, the harder it is to explain.
funny is…you point me as we are both caucasians so you could not have meant that this way…
well, if i WHERE caucasian than it may be in that direction but i’m not. i’m black.
i’m black and since in germany they have tryed to kill me because of my wrong race, i may get quicker scared than others and i think that is not funny but that may be my problem…
i forgot the smily at the end of my posting but i was tired when i posted so there have not been the mean of beeing mean…just was wondering how somebody can so quick write so often…
anyway, i myseld never make jokes where races, nations or such is the point just because people with not thinking of meanings make and bring more problems over the world.
but like i sayed, i may be to sensible for that kind of joke…
no, it is fine.
you explained it well.
it made me just smile that he where thinking we are both caucasians a nd that even showed that he does not where mean…lol
it is ok, i figured often that words here are just misttreated to ...whatever… and my bad english made it hard to understand that humor thing
for me, as a black german, the word burn means…fire…hot…BURN…
for you it means…joke… fine, i learned something on this almost sunny monday.
so, it had a good thing, to learn an little bit more understand how words are made cricket…lol
