Asheville definitely does not need anymore restaurants or bars. I honestly cannot think of anything Asheville NEEDS. It is pretty over saturated as it is with retail spots.

How about we get Beanstreets back?

That’s all I’ve got.

What do we want Central Planning ala USSR to keep more restaurants out of downtown? I’d much rather have them than a Staples or an Ellington Hotel.

How about a place that just serves various kinds of cold cereal? I think that would go over well.

I hope you are being sarcastic here.
That closed recently..one of the worst ‘eatery’ ideas I’ve heard of in a long time.

To recap, so far, here are the big retail “needs” for downtown:

1. Sex Toy Shop
2. Underwear Store
3. General Store/Discount Store (space heaters, shelving, etc.)
4. Trader Joe’s
5. Hip Men’s Clothing (Big/Tall)
6. Cold Cereal Bar (Sarcastic)
7. Ethiopian Food

From this list, at least, it seems that downtown store owners has the bases pretty well covered.

I actually thought about opening a men’s store a few years ago downtown..but then rent costs started to raise and saw that option not a possibility any more.
There definitely needs to be another option for men than retro T’s…old jeans and 80’s attire.
Dated to say the least.

I could sure use one of those ACME outlet stores. You see, I’ve got this annoying roadrunner, and ...
