That’s the first i’ve seen of it….Looks like a Honda.
Yep, the whole “chopper” culture has been co-opted. People want to order “unique” outta a catalogue.
I don’t know, I had an ‘01 Shadow 750 ACE that was nice. Smooth, solid…nice. But it was just so… bland. This looks kinda the same. All of the “features” listed read like someone trying to sell the Authentic American Motorcycle ExperienceTM. I AM curious about the shaft drive and the fuel injection…. No choke? It’s a Honda…i’m sure it’s very well made.
And i’m guessing it’s about 20 G’s less than a comparable Harley… So it does have that going for it, which is nice…which means they probably will steal a little of the market share…
It looks very much like a Honda. Not to mention that on a bike like that the radiator just looks wrong.
Both my bikes have FI and I don’t have a single issue with that.
Not 20 G’s less for sure. I’ve seen the Fury listed at 12,000 for the basic model. For 32 grand you could pretty much get whatever you wanted.
You can get a similarly powered and more attractive (IMO) HD for 12-13,000. Fully dressed for low 20’s.
I’m sure everyone here will think i’m some kind of retro wuss, but i like old Honda rides. My CB360 and my CT110 are perfect for around-the-mountains and around-town. I like sitting up in the saddle like an Englishman riding a horse.
Not that i have anything against a ground-pounder like a Harley, but everytime i ride one (or the many copycats) i sit back with my feet out like a BarcaLounger recliner with the feet up. Not bad for inside watching the game and scratching the balls, but not for a vehicle. Otherwise, why not get a convertible so i’m less likely to spill my drink.
Neither do i have anything against crotch-rockets, but again it’s riding position that i don’t like - so far forward and feet back like i’m crawling through a tunnel and craneing my neck to see where i’m going. Fine for a body pillow to put between your legs but to ride around on? Nah, not for me.
Anyway, i also like the cheaper, “more mature” models because, well, we identify with each other…
i need a bike for the summer in avl ... might have to start looking soon ....
I can possibly help you with that. Personally I’ve got a Kaw Vulcan 900 Custom I’m looking to unload, which is just wicked fun, plus I know some people.
I have a source, but I do like that bike ... what year and how many miles ...
Not to mention that on a bike like that the radiator just looks wrong.
true

Me neither, i like fuel injection….and it’s really not as hard to work on as most people think….just as easy as carbs depending on the bike IMHO…

i’ve seen u around W. A’ville, Zen…i love the saddle bags on the 360….pimp
and the lil’ 110 looks like a blast

yeah, that’s pretty much the price i found…
if i was gonna spend more than 10 G’s on a bike other than another beemer, it’d probably be a Honda, though…
It’s easy to marvel at the Interceptor’s high-tech parts manifest and its state-of-the-art components, including a VTEC-equipped V-4 and exclusive Linked Braking System for starters. It’s even more awe-inspiring to ride one. Just ask industry experts, who’ve have crowned it “Best in Class” 11 times. If you’re looking for a bike that puts the “sport” in sport-touring, look no further than the Interceptor.
The Interceptor® continues to serve as the epitome of sport touring motorcycles, one that carries an extra emphasis on sport. Its potent V-four VTEC engine and excellent handling make this the long-range bike of choice for those who hunt out twisty backroads.
or a Kawasaki KLR (which is a badass bike for less than 6)

Not at all. Well, maybe for the scooter.
Seriously, I love those old Honda CB’s. I used to have one as a kid. Not great for riding around in the grass and dirt, but we made it work.
I’d love to have a garage filled with about 10 different bikes.
yep, the quiver….
maybe we should put together our dream lists…..
i reckon i’ll start…..
BMW R 1200ST: basically, just a better version of what i’ve got…for them long trips
Ducati Streetfighter S: bare boned and badass for the twisties
BMW R1200GS Adventure: for trips to Central America
Yamaha YZ250F: for bangin’ around the back 40
1952 Norton Model 7: well, hell, it’s just cool….
Mission One: see prior posts
Of course if i had the money for these. i’d also have the time, space, gear and money to make my own chopper as well….because it’s always better when you make it yourself.
No seriously,
HD Road King
HD Ultra Classic Electra Glide
Suzuki Hayabusa and a Kaw Councours 14 for diversity
Ditto on the Ducati
Ditto on the BMW R1200GS
A custom chopper for toolin around town
70’s era Triumph
and many, many more. But that’s off the top of my head.
