Or if you like actual strategy, every player having to play both defense and offense and you don’t like idiots just having batting practice.
Boy there is a generalization from 20 years ago that never really held water, but good for you for remembering ....
The AL has taken 8 out of 12 years of interleague play which is a 667 winning pct .... and that includes half the games in NL parks playing actual strategy games ...
I actually watched some of Wimbledon this year and was highly impressed with the efficiency of their instant replay. No more than 10 seconds. I really wish baseball would embrace this technology. The biggest negative I’ve heard from the baseball purists is that they’ve worked so hard to shorten games, that additional use of replay would hinder that progress. I disagree, especially seeing what tennis has done. Maybe they could give a pitcher a ‘pitch clock’ to speed up the game a bit and more than cancel out the extra time from replay.
I hope by the jedi taking over you mean the Rays. The Sox are (nearly) just as guilty of what the Yankees do, monetarily speaking. They are just better run as an organization.

we have to compete every year in a division where we will be outspent by 50 million dollars playing ball in our little old stadium ... they should move the yankees around to different divisions every year and we wouldn’t have to spend as much .... of course if the sox dont make it I hope the rays can do it….. but you saw the rays get slapped like punks in the ws .... who knows if they are just some indian like also rans
With less than 60 games remaining in this summer sport that seems to be dragging on for me this year, who do you see as the rookies of the year? Cy Young winners? MVP for each league?
The trade deadline also passed with some interesting moves. Tatttms’ beloved Indians traded away a reigning Cy Young winner for the second year in a row. The Indians also let go their other strongest asset, versatile catcher/1st baseman/DH Victor Martinez to the Red Sox. The White Sox picked up Peavy in their second attempt for him…this time he’s injured and there’s always concern for a pitcher going from the NL to the more talented AL. The Tigers picked up a decent pitcher in Washburn from the Mariners. The Pirates are still acting as any other team’s AAA affiliate as they are ghetto. A few other lackluster trades and here we go into the home stretch.
