Even though it is a NE World Series, huge ratings across the nation. Pretty good games for the most part. I expect the Yankees will wrap it up tomorrow to the “Who’s your daddy” chants. I’m hoping for the drama of a game seven. It’s been quite awhile that a WS has been this competitive.

Get it right
Replay would not disrupt the flow of a game that has no flow…pitch, throw to first base, step off mound, batter steps out, throw to first, ball two…3 minutes, 2 balls.
ok Spring training is upon us and the start of a new Baseball season is just around the corner ....
of course the Red Sox are going to win the World Series this year, but there are still some interesting story lines
will the yankees just buy up the NL and cull the best players for their AAA team
will the cubs be picked for last this year only to rise up and finish a strong second
can detroit, chicago and cleveland underachieve yet again
will the mets and the orioles be mathematically eliminated from contention before spring training is over
is tim lincecom a doppleganger for my carpenter
You’re right. That doesn’t mean that the economic landscape of MLB sucks. Imagine being a Royals fan, or a Marlins fan. Draft a good player? You might not be able to afford him due to the lack of a salary cap on rookies/prospects. Develop a decent player? It’s inevitable that he is going to end up on one of the big teams.
No other sport has this problem. It sucks. It makes me not like baseball.
And before you answer “too bad for those teams”, don’t you think that this is a problem? Shouldn’t every team be able to compete like in the other top four sports?
i am in complete agreement with you over the disparity in parity .... baseball sucks for many of the small market teams ...
the NFL is really a model for fairness .... it seems like every few years there are teams that are going from last to first and many teams are at least getting to the playoffs every few years ....
having said all that there is nothing I like more than seeing the yankees lose ..... even if you don’t like the sox at least every so often they deny the yankees a chance to add another pennant
The team with the $201,449,189 payroll losing to the team with the $121,745,999 payroll is just like David beating Goliath.
Especially to those Padres (you know, the team with the $43,734,200 payroll) and Marlins ($36,834,000) fans. Exactly like that.
awesome point .... so 80 million is not enough money to be considered david / goliath esque
wiki - david worked at his dads deli in the holy land and made almost 50 shekels a month
goliath only made 38 shekels a month as an enforcer - clearly david was a financial ringer
david weighed 157.51 and goliath weighed 221.44 not even a difference of 70 pounds
so by any measure even david and goliath don’t meet your david and goliath standard
