195 bites
This aggressive dog business sickens me.. here’s a quote from last nights news..and its only June…
Dog attacks are on the rise across the mountains, with at least seven major incidents in the last month.
The most recent dog bite happened just this morning in Maggie Valley.
We’re told a dog got loose from its yard and bit a woman taking a walk through her neighborhood.
Yesterday afternoon, a two-year-old in Transylvania County was bitten by a rottweiler.
On Saturday, a twelve-year-old in Haywood County was attacked by a pitt bull.
Animal Control officers say the reason behind the increase in attacks is simple: kids are out of school and the weather is getting warmer.
That means people are spending more and more time outdoors.
They say they see the same spike in dog attacks, each and every summer.
In Haywood County, officers have responded to 82 dog bites so far this year.
In Buncombe County, it’s even higher - about 195 bites.
That puts both counties on track to surpass the number of dog bites and attacks they saw in 2008.
Animal Control officers say that’s why it’s crucial for pet owners to keep an eye on their dogs during these next few months.
Once upon a time people decided it would be a good idea to breed dogs for aggression,, for hunting and protection purposes..and they did.. at first it was OK..sure the dogs got loose and bit a few people but people looked the other way and said” dogs will be dogs”..But then these aggressive dogs started attacking children and twice a week folks started seeing in the news where another kid was having his head sewn back together cause an aggressive dog attacked them..
People began to be afraid because the laws that governed vicious dogs weren’t adequate to protect them…Some people started threads on their local forums in hopes that someone out their would listen to their concerns..
Some DNA experiments go wrong.. terribly wrong..
