Is she gone for good or is this some loopy strategy in a bid for the Whitehouse? I was so looking forward to Sarah Palin taking the Rebublican nomination in 2012. 2012 could be the end of the world or just the Rebublican party as we know it.

It strikes me as fairly odd although as she stated quite unconventional. I have not had her on a short list of viable candidates in 2012 so we will have to see.

What an irelevant bunch of discombobulated morons you ‘tards can be at times. Travelah is a conservative ideologue and a screen name for A.M. Mallett who posts for the intellectual challenge of the political or social topic and for no other reason on this board. Travelah has no sockpuppets, is not in the employ of political operatives and doesn’t give a sack of chit if you believe otherwise. He does care about the state of your souls

The list of viable rebublicans for the 2012 presidential nomination has got to be the shortest list going.

Ya know, Sanford did mention some inappropriate contact with other women. My inside sources from the Lt. Governor’s Office on Aging who had dinner with us last night mentioned that a major SC political insider suggested Sanford might have also gotten inappropriate with a few men. Perhaps the First Dude and Sarah got an invite during the last campaign swing through the heartland.

Do you mean to suggest that Sarah was on of those women Sanford “crossed” the line with? Hummmm, how far over the line did he go?

For someone who campaigned with little political experience, she’s pretty much shooting herself in the political foot. This looks like a cowardly move because she quit when the going got rough.

Barfly ya just never know. Here is a bit on Sanford’s enhanced flirtation with women other than the Argentinian.  http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/01/us/01sanford.html

The blood raising effect of the winking Caribou Barbie on conservative Rebublican men was no big secret.

Sarah was Governor of a state with 680,000 people..we’ve got 330,000 people in Buncombe alone. Basically what I’m saying is Governor of Alaska is like being a mayor of a medium sized city…not that big of a deal..

Why we give a rats ass what a pretty mouth piece of the ripe off artists that have driven our country into the economic toilet is doing with her freak show of a career is beyond me..

If she looks like a dumbo, smells like a dumbo and talks like a dumbo she probably is a…

I hope she becomes a president of a PTA up there in the frozen tundra where she belongs..

Jesus we need a better class of spokes models..

Political observers note that her resignation is antithetical to any further national political aspirations she may have.  A major deficiency of Palin’s was her lack of experience.  Walking away from her governorship after only 2.5 years only makes sense in light of the swirling rumors in Alaskan politics (detailed in virtually every political talk show last night and today) strongly suggesting this is a pre-emptive effort on her part to do ‘damage control’ when the other shoe drops.  Anyone listening to her confusing, disjointed rambling 18-minute announcement yesterday could not help but notice she seemed nervous and emotional.  Could it have anything to do with these rumors?

“In the wake of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s surprise resignation on Friday, rumors are beginning to circulate that she might have acted in anticipation of a previously unsuspected scandal being revealed…

BradBlog is now reporting additional information received from Alaskans who follow Palin: “I’ve now been able to get independent information from multiple sources that all of this precedes what are said to be possible federal indictments against Palin, concerning an embezzlement scandal related to the building of Palin’s house and the Wasilla Sports Complex built during her tenure as Mayor. Both structures, it is said, feature the ’same windows, same wood, same products.’ Federal investigators have been looking into this for some time, and indictments could be imminent, according to the Alaska sources.”

http://rawstory.com/08/news/2009/07/03/rumors-fly-about-palins-iceberg-scandal/

It should be noted that BradBlog has a pretty good track record of disclosing accurate information. We shouldn’t have too long to wait to find out Palin’s real reason for quitting.

who is on your short list at the moment?

My shortlist at this point consists of Romney and quite possibly Hucklebee. I might have included Sanford as well but he shot himself in the foot
