I didnt know where elseto put this. we dont seem to have an ‘automotive’ section.

The Audi Shark concept is 26-year-old Kazim Doku’s winning entry into a design competition (.pdf) co-sponsored by Audi and Milan’s Domus Academy. And while the Shark may wear the four ring Audi badge, it’s not a car but a hovercraft. Still, you can see some familiar elements of Walter de’Silva’s signauture style, something Doku told us he tried to emulate when designing the Shark.

“Reflecting Audi’s clean and perfect lines, I designed a super sport automobile,” Doku told Wired.com. Indeed. Looking at the Shark, it’s easy to catch glimpses of the R8, TT and S5 but with an ultra-modern twist.

Doku says the driving position is similar to a motorcycle “but with a car’s security.” LED lights come straight out of the S5 parts bin, but the rear-hinged glass cockpit and air foils come straight out of the future. We also appreciate the side view mirrors, a must when gliding over roadways at breakneck speed.

Have we not come to such an impasse in the modern world that we must love our enemies - or else? The chain reaction of evil - hate begetting hate, wars producing more wars - must be broken, or else we shall be plunged into the dark abyss of annihilation.

If there’s a demand, I can see to it that a car section be added. Or at least a general transportation section of some kind.

and while were talking about cool futuristic vehicles…

Brammo_270x183.jpg

The Enertia, from Ashland, Oregon-based Brammo, is an all-electric motorcycle that can take its rider as far as 45 miles on a three-hour charge, and reach speeds up to 50 m.p.h. Popular Science was impressed after a test ride, calling it “the perfect bike for the urban cowboy in search of his or her steel horse.” Though it’s eye-catching and whisper quiet, Best Buy doesn’t expect many of the $11,995 motorcycles to roll out of its stores (should we call them showrooms now? dealerships?) during this recession.

from todays chirstian science monitor. I got a “Action Denied: Blacklisted Item Found” for the url, maybe becuase it says best buy?
