The film Food, Inc. will be showing at Carolina Cinemas in Asheville July 16-23. Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project (ASAP) will host a discussion after 7:55p.m. showings on Friday, July 17; Saturday, July 18; Thursday, July 23; and Friday, July 24. Join farmers and staff in examining issues raised by the film.

In Food, Inc., filmmaker Robert Kenner investigates our nation’s food industry. Featuring interviews with experts such as Eric Schlosser (Fast Food Nation), Michael Pollan (The Omnivore’s Dilemma) along with forward thinking social entrepreneurs like Stonyfield Farm’s Gary Hirshberg and Polyface Farms’ Joel Salatin, Food, Inc. reveals surprises about what we eat and how it’s produced.

Find more information about the Asheville showing at http://www.movietickets.com or call the theater at (828) 274-8811. Carolina Cinemas is located at 1640 Hendersonville Road, Asheville, NC 28803.

I work with ASAP and will be part of the round table tomorrow, Thursday, July 16. (This showing is a benefit for Evergreen Charter School.) I’m interested in hearing people’s thoughts on the film, here or at the theater.
