In 1984, I won a banner contest and got to go back stage and meet REO Speedwagon. Our banner was “Riding the Storm Out” in glow in the dark. The pyrotechnics made it glow their last song. Quite awesome really.

So THAT’s where the “glow” in Glolady comes from?

I think she moved on to other things. The forums were dead for a while.

It may be my fault, because it seemed to coincide with the decision I made about the role of the Admin. I decided it was a bad idea for the only Xpress staffer who keeps an eye on the forums to also be the one who spends the most time arguing with people. Every day, it seems, I’d have a heated go-round with either GloLady and AshaKasha, or sometimes both at once.

When I stopped posting and went back to quiet modding, the forum seemed to deflate. There were about two months where there were maybe two posts a week. It was sad.

So, I started posting again maybe a month ago in an attempt to stir the pot a little. The forums have perked up a bit—largely thanks to the blog comment crew stopping by—but GloLady and AK seem to be gone for good. It’s a shame. I’d really like to see how they’d play with travelah and William P. Miller (assuming he wants to be unbanned after this week).

Is WPM banned?  (kewl!)  Was it about the disgusting pic he posted on another thead?  just curious….my problems with that post are clearly off-topic here.  (I guess that I can go and check it out after I finish this post).

Back on topic - many/most forums that I visit tend to get pretty quiet during the summer months - and liven up toward the year’s ending.  So I wouldn’t take it too personally, Steve.

It would seem that AK is still around - at least a bit - on certain subjects, which have been pretty interesting to follow, even if I (representing at least a few readers) haven’t chimed in on any particular side of an “issue” (i.e. vegetarianism as a religion).

I had never noticed *this* particular thread before - haven’t been here all that long. 
Not sure that I have much to contribute on this particular topic (although I have read the Bible, I am not a Christian….complicated…)  Still, it would be an interesting discussion to continue, imo.

If you watched URTV, you’d know. She’s on every week. And I saw her in person at the station last night. Nice lady.

I saw her at Bele Chere.

I was recharging…. LOL…

It is nice to be missed… but then we wonder why… was it for the information that I shared or the sparing with Steve?
