Hey guys :0)

Over the past year, we have started to feed my dog a variety of foods, in combination with a good vegetarian dog food we found. We just figured that, if dogs have such intense olfactory senses, it must suck to have to eat bland dog food all the time.  Especially with the aromas of our yummy food wafting around (must be torturous).

We started with just brown rice and beans, but have since added fresh vegetable trimmings and other cooked vegetables (potatoes, broccoli, sprouts, yam skins, butternut squash, etc.)
This has made such a difference. She used to just nibble on her food throughout the day, and now she jumps around wagging her tail when we prepare her food- and always cleans her plate (well...except for some broccoli stems or pieces of cabbage she manages to sort out of the mix). The vet said this was way better than any processed dog food (as long as we keep it simple and natural).

Just putting it out there as an easy way to bring loads of joy to your best friend’s daily life.

Downside: she has been dropping some pretty stinky bombs here and there...must be the cabbage....Pee-yuuuu!

i’m not sure how healthy they are, but my brood has developed a passion for peanut butter filled pretzel nuggets. and they make the best medicine treats! you can bite off the end and push a pill into the smushy peanut butter inside. when they eat it, they can’t tell the pill is in there because of all the pieces of hard pretzel that mix in.

they’re perfect dog treats! cheaper than the fake meat treats too ...

hmmm....good idea, Lumina- It can be difficult to trick them into taking their pills.
