Haven’t spent much time evaluating but I have used it as a search tool though not a necessary one as I have the Google ap supported by Chrome. Still, the browser has a bookmarks feature.
Still, I remain addicted to all the add ons available for Firefox. Oh, I know the fanatics will scoff, but I eagerly await Windows 7 which promises greater speed, improving an already decent Firefox.
Bottom line is, I cannot resist giving new things a run through, a disease I caught from my brother who is running Windows 7 release candidate on his lap top and finds it much faster than Vista. Side bar here, read a comment that “licensed” versions of Windows 7 are available via torrents and the author of the article states that he thinks Microsoft is not interested in preventing this. Could this be a first step to them offering their OS free as well? Makes sense considering the growing number of free (OS) systems available.
You can add bookmarks to the tool bar, not just icons but small enough to make it useful. But, alas, I have yet to find any evidence of a spell checker.
One positive factor, gmail works as well on it as it does on Chrome. I like to embellish my fonts and most mail systems are notoriously unstable, including Firefox’s hosting of gmail. It’s annoying to set font style and have it evaporate on you for no apparent reason.
