There are a few intelligent posters( although they are seldom heard from.)._..I’m not one of them..please don’t follow my example..I am hated by all except Piffy who I think has a man crush on me..If it’s not true Piffy don’t tell me ..an old man needs his delusions..
Welcome to hell..
yeah, as you may have noticed, most of us avoid interacting with “R” too much.
Have seen it, but since I’m new at this forum thing, didn’t know what “boarding” was/is.
Kate, “Boarding” is the process of engaging in the Mountain Xpress Forum in a very pro-active way. You are “boarding” just by posting, some might say, but to truly Board, one has to read a lot of threads, and get the over-all storyline. that’s right, if you read ALL of this crap, you will discover we are actually writing a novel, but keep it hidden in between the lines.
You see, some only post peripherally, the read a comment or two, respond, and thats it. That aint really Boarding. You need to read entire threads-the LOLs, the Lulz, the Trolls, the good points, the stupid points—that will make you a true Boarder, winning the respect of faceless people online.
But it;s more than that. It is making this place your home. Exploring alltheoptions available. Digging through old threads, bantering a bit with the pros like shad and bugg and brebro and the tat bros and steamey… It means starting threads, engaging in multiple-page discussions, and eventually telling bobaloo that he is “misinformed”*
*That is an inside Boarder joke. If you stick around, and bring your friends, you too can have bizarre inside jokes growing organically from your conversations.
Thank you, very well written and explained. Now I have another computer term that was a noun and
is now a verb. Used to kill me when the s/w engineers would do that, but the more I edited, and tested,
and wrote, the more I understood. It just is.
Would like to order the novel, btw. (I get alerts from amazon to “pre-order” certain thrillers. How can
one “pre” order? Can’t we just all order the darned thing?
That’s one I never thought about, but you’re right. If you order it, you order it. You don’t make some preliminary preparation to order it. I suppose they need to delineate orders from items that are in-stock and items that are yet to be in-stock but are expected to arrive soon. Therefore, if they have it, you can order it and they tend to send it to you; but it they don’t have it, you PRE-order it and they just PRE-tend to send it to you.
EDIT: (I just realized how off-topic I was and how this conversation should be in the proper thread: not here, but here. Sorry, everyone!)

Many children who grew up in chaotic environments..desperately try to order and correct their fear of the out of control nature of the universe by being hyper vigilant ...in an attempt to put themselves in a position of control..they outline behaviors for others to adhere to so they can feel safe..some call these folks control freaks ..other folks call them fascist hyper vigilant wussies..
I like to call them Piffies…
