Alright, the Marquez was a quick, yet highly enjoyable, read (that apparently he never wanted published).

On to Wobblies & Zapatistas  Staughton Lynd & Andrej Grubacic

Just re-read Pat Conroy’s Beach Music. I really liked it

EM have you read Chris Moore’s “Island of the sequined love nun”? He is soooo off-beat

Just re-read Pat Conroy’s Beach Music.

Pat Conroy’s one of my guilty pleasures.

He’s actually coming out with a new book in a few days.

I haven’t read that one yet, but I will. Moore’s hilarious and smart—love him. I love Conroy too. He grew up around the corner from my Dad and was a childhood friend of my uncle’s. I think he wrote his poem “Where are the Buckhead Boys?” about their hood.

He lives on Fripp where I used to spend my summers as a boy and spent time as a teacher on Dafuskie where I’ve also spent a lot of time.

His descriptions of the lowcountry always get to me.

He’ll be in town for his new book soon.
